@Surn I believe quite a few people use this site; however, it’s more to share their works and not so much of socializing with others. This month, I realized how many artists post on Newgrounds by using a third-party site or app, so it’s possible they don’t even get notified of any comments made by users here.

It also probably doesn't help that many Newgrounders have gotten older over the years, and that kids these days don't seem to be as edgy as they used to be. Saying fuck on the Internet doesn't really get you any cool points anymore.
Plus, you know, at this point, everyone knows that if you want to be a jerk on the internet you go to 4chan (or twitter).
I think the newer crop of NGers are more concerned about being liked than being honest, so they keep their personas more friendly and positive. You catch more flies with honey. Also, I think the old school internet attitude of being edgy and assholish is just not as prevelant anymore.
yeah imo. there are a few stinkers out there, but a lot of people grew up, also the tone is just better for some reason

Not willingly. It´s just the fad of the time since, if you dare mock the protected class or drop some supahot slurs, or just in general be different than what the masses and mods here approve, you get muted, banned or worse.
Newgrounds today ain´t the Newgrounds of Yesterday i can tell you that much.
It´s fake, which i think turns people off.
The staff started to cater to the Zoomer FNF kiddie crowd, and they cannot handle any no-no words dontcha know?
